Special case: New fireplace or start of the heating season
|
|||
When heating a new stove for the first time or after a long heating break, the stove must be heated slowly. An instant big fire (temperatures up to 800 ° C are possible in the stove) would cause high tensions as the surface expands too quickly. When heating for the first time, be sure to bring the stove to its operating temperature by continuously heating slowly with a small heat (low heat). Use small wood for the first time and spend time for several hours. To get the still cold chimney to start pulling faster, you can ignite a so-called "lockfire": To do this you first burn a few bits of newspaper before actually heating up. Due to the fast, violent, but short fire, the hot smoke quickly finds its way through the cold fireplace. |
