Which wood for my fireplace?
|
|||
Not all woods are equally suitable for use as firewood. Pine, for example, strongly sparks and has any explosive resin inclusions and is therefore completely unsuitable for the the fireplace. Hardwoods such as cork oak, holm oak, eucaliptus, olive and medronho, all of which have good thermal performance, are particularly suitable for burning in the basic furnace. It is important to have as much small wood as thick logs in stock and to store both dry. If you are unable to find good wood, ask your fireplace builder and wood specialist for a good supplier and we will gladly give you some addresses and contacts. These will provide adequate and well-stocked, ready-to-use wood directly to your home. |
